How To Write Short Article - Too Short?

Not From Cache
What do you mean my guide on “How To Write Short Article” is too short? It’s a short guide. It’s meant to be short. But I didn’t skim on anything you need to know, did I?

You want a long version? Ok, you win. I’ll give you one.

Let’s be clear about 2 things first: You already have a topic in mind and gathered all the information on the topic. You are ready to write your short article.

Behold… My long version guide of how to write short article:

  1. Title
You need to crystalize your topic in mind into an article title. You’re writing an article, not a thesis. A specific title helps to narrow down your discussions. It also serves as a reminder not to stray into every directions during your writing.
  2. Body
Go straight into the main body of the article after settling on a title. Put down a few key phrases describing 2-4 main points for a start. Expand each key phrase into a separate paragraph by giving more details from your research. You can write as long or as short as you like. Just keep each paragraph focus on a single point.
  3. Conclusion
Go on to conclude the short article based on the article body written. Sum up by repeating the essence of the body. Then opine on the meaning of the summary in a couple of sentences. That should give you a nice conclusion.
  4. Introduction
First you talk generally on the topic in relation to the article title. Next introduce the article body in a broad manner. And there you got yourself an introduction. The conclusion and introduction overlap somewhat. So you can also try rewriting the conclusion to become the introduction as an alternative.
  5. Review
This is where you inspect the quality of the finish product. Read through the article to ensure the sequences flow logically leading from one point to another. You normally need to rewrite some parts here. Don’t be afraid to shift or even delete a paragraph. Revise the article title to better reflect the body. Fine tune any other way you see fit. And of course don’t forget to spell check.

That’s it. That’s my long version of how to write short article. Satisfied? Sure it isn’t that long. I’m showing you how to write short article. I don’t want to give you no bad example, do I? ;)
